Dürer, Part Four
Presumably from the same year as the silverpoint drawing in Vienna, another portrait of a thirteen-year-old boy has survived; it was formerly part of the collections of the Pomeranian Historical Society in Szczecin. It is an oil painting on paper depicting a half-length portrait of a boy turned slightly to the right. It bears the date 1484 at the top—which has not been entirely clearly deciphered—and the inscription at the bottom:
